BETHEL BAPTIST
WORSHIP MINISTRY

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord.  (Colossians 3:16)

Worship is an important component of the Christian life.  Music has always been an important part of worship, praise, and expression for Christians. Throughout Scripture, musical references abound and serve as the foundation for music ministry.  Our goal is to provide everyone with the opportunity to use and develop their God-given talents for music.

Recognizing that people connect in worship through different means, we offer two different styles of worship for our congregation. Our traditional worship takes place in the early service at 8:30am on Sundays and includes piano, organ and the hymnal. Our contemporary worship takes place in the late service at 10:55am and consists of a full worship team leading worship with contemporary songs and choruses.

Through our services, we strive to provide various elements that enable Christians of all ages to be able to connect with God.  Each Sunday morning, our desire is to provide all attenders the opportunity to celebrate who God is and also to celebrate what He is doing in their individual lives.

CURRENT  SPECIAL  MUSIC  SCHEDULE:  Winter & Spring 2011

CELEBRATION CHOIR

Music provides a common language to communicate the joy and hope of the Christian life. God has given each of us a powerful song to sing: a testimony of the wonders of God. The choir is the best way for large numbers of people to witness through song how God has worked in their lives.

The Celebration Choir ministers through the morning worship services and special programs. The choir provides special music once a month in early service and the rest of the month in the late service. This group strives to present music that will glorify God and enhance the worship experience.  Currently this group of adults has a membership of 45 dedicated singers. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings 7:30 - 8:30 PM in the choir room.  No audition is necessary, but faithful attendance is expected.

 WORSHIP TEAM

Bethel's worship team leads the congregation in worship on Sunday mornings and for special events.  The band consists of a vocal team, drums, guitars, bass and keyboard.  We currently use Media Shout for our presentation software, Yamaha LS9-32 digital sound board and an Aviom personal monitor system.

ACCOMPANISTS

Bethel is blessed to have two accompanists - Judy Stockton and Margie Byrd. Each lady is gifted in their ability to play the piano, organ and/or keyboard.  Bethel is fortunate to have an Allen Organ, a Weber Grand Piano, two Roland keyboards and a Zimbelstern.

THE SPIRIT BELLS HANDBELL CHOIR

References to the use of bells in worship date back to the psalmists of the Old Testament. While the handbells of today have been in existence since the 17th century, their use in American churches began in the 1940’s. At Bethel Baptist, the handbell choir utilizes three octaves of handbells requiring eleven ringers. The handbell choir meets for special performances and events. Anyone interested in participating in handbells should contact Pastor Gregg or Phyllis Hunsley.

It is our prayer that through the music ministries of this church you will find your place of service, leadership and participation in this family of believers. If you would like to join the choir or get more information about how to be involved, call 540-389-2376
